Upon arrival at our office, you will be greeted by our Patient Experience Coordinator.  If you have not completed the forms located on this website online, you will be asked to fill out a few short office forms. 

After the basic pre-testing procedures in Pre-Testing Room One, more specialized testing will be completed in Pre-Testing Room Two.  This sequence of tests provides a wealth of information to ensure the most accurate eyeglasses and contact lens prescription and thorough eye health examination. 

After the thorough pre-testing procedures, the doctor will review the large amount of data and perform the refraction, which is the testing for your new glasses and/or contact lens prescription.  Unlike many other eye care providers, the refraction is performed personally by your doctor to ensure the most accurate parameters are obtained for your new eyewear and contact lenses.  East Tennessee Eye Care uses the Epic Refraction System.  The Epic Refraction System is the most technologically advanced system available for determining your new eye wear and contact lens prescription.

Contact lens wears will be escorted to the contact lens area, for insertion of the lenses recommended by the doctor, based on the examination findings.  East Tennessee Eye Care stocks thousands of contact lenses, and in nearly all cases can fit your contact lenses at your initial visit.

The patient consultation area at East Tennessee Eye Care is a private area to review the recommendations of the doctor and make final eye wear decisions.  The CyberEyes Imager is located in this area.  The imager allows you to see your eye wear choices clearly, even when dilated.  The final precise measurements are also obtained by the CyberEyes Imager and uploaded to one our optical labs with proven records of only producing the highest quality custom eye wear.
